President - Jill Collins

Jill was asked to join the Board of BCAS in January of 2002. She has held various positions over the years and resides as the Past President. She is a breast cancer survivor, retired and performs other volunteer work in the community.

Jill has 5 grandchildren and enjoys many hours with them. Her goal as a member of this board is to ensure that pertinent and up to date information is available to all newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and to provide support in whatever way she can.

Treasurer - Linda Paul

Linda was born and raised in Regina where she still lives now with her husband and two daughters. Throughout Linda’s life, her mother has always stressed the importance of overall wellness.

Now, as the owner of Thee Lingerie Shoppe, breast health plays an important role in her day-to-day life.

When Linda is not working, she enjoys travelling, going for walks, and spending time with her family and friends.  Linda is looking forward to another great year with BCAS!

The Board

picture_439.jpg Elaine Giroux-Sylvestre was asked to join the Board in 2009. Elaine has lived in Regina since 1968 where she attended university and then pursued a teaching career spanning 30 years. Since retiring in 2003, Elaine keeps busy with many volunteer activities in the community. As well, she enjoys gardening, cooking, walking and travelling. Elaine is a 'survivor' since being diagnosed with breast cancer in the fall of 2001

 Verna Tushkewich has called Regina home for many happy years. Educated at Prince Albert Collegiate Institute University of Saskatchewan, Regina Grey Nuns Hospital and the University of Regina. Verna is not a "survivor" rather a "winner". her courageous dear friends asked her to join BCAS in 1996. She has been involved in BCAS as the Secretary in the fundraising & Advocacy committees and instrumental in representing BCAS with the development of the Patient Charter of Rights.

Verna works full time at the Regina Provincial Correctional Center (CAPS) as a corrections worker since 1985. She is also the shop steward, Panel Rep and is on the industrial Relations Committee.

In her spare time she sings with the Knox - Metropolitan Chancle Choir, Regina Philharmonic Chorus, volunteers at the Regina Community Clinic and enjoys traveling, gardening,photography, dancing, yoga and having fun!

Sample ImageHelen Weningeris married with two sons, a daughter and a grandson. She has been invloved with BCAS since 1995, and has served as a board member for most of those years. Helen is a Certified Fitter for breast prosthetics and is the owner of the Pink Tree Speciality Merchants in Regina, who specialize in fitting of mastectomy supplies, wigs and compression garments. She has almost 15 years experience in the area, and has developed some strong relationships with many breast cancer survivores throughout the province. Her talents have been shared with the community as a long time volunteer with the Look Good...Feel Better program run from the Allan Blair Cancer Clinic. She has also been invloved as an active member of the Regina Womens Network and the Entrepreneurs of Saskatchewan.
